Follow our pro tips to keep your gold plated jewelry in great condition for years to come!
Keep it dry.
One of the quickest ways to tarnish your jewelry is by contact with moisture and liquids. So:
-
Make sure your hands are clean and dry when touching your gold-plated jewelry.
-
Put on your gold-plated jewelry last – After creams, make-up, perfume, and hairspray.
-
Remove your gold-plated jewelry before exercises to prevent exposure to sweat and salts.
-
Remove your gold-plated jewelry before swimming in saltwater or chlorinated pools.
-
Remove your gold-plated jewelry when cooking, especially acidic foods.
Proper storage.
Exposure to moisture in the air can wear down your plated and silver jewelry overtime. Storing them properly will lengthen their shine and durability.
-
Store them in the provided microfiber pouch.
-
Store each piece separately to prevent from scratching each other.
-
Alternatively, you can store them in a mini-Ziploc bag. Make sure to get rid of much air as possible before sealing.
-
Store them in cool dry place (ideally less humid).
Clean them with care.
-
Use a microfiber cloth or a damp cotton ball to wipe your piece after each use.
-
If you need to wash your vermeil jewelry, use lukewarm water and a mild liquid soap. Dip your piece into the soapy water and using your fingers gently rub away dirt. Rinse with water and gently pat dry. Store away once fully dry.
-
Avoid any harsh chemicals and detergents! Also, do not use a brush or coarse fabrics to clean vermeil jewelry as this can potentially scratch the surface.
